Citizenship of India is obtained according to some other rules also. For example, if a person ordinarily resides in India for 7 years, he can apply for citizenship. According to the Citizenship Amendment Act implemented by the Government of India, only the minorities of three Muslim countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan will be given Indian citizenship. However, this citizenship will be available only to those people who have come to India till 31 December 2014. According to the rules of CAA, it includes 6 non-Muslim communities which include Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Jain, Buddhist and Parsi.
